This small seax is simple representation of a classic scandinavian utility knife. Large Seaxs were typically carried typically carried as a weapon, with a smaller in reserve for all utility needs. The 5160 high carbon steel blade has been forged thin with a full depth bevel fine secondary bevel to the cutting edge.
The handle is made from stabilized spalted maple and is contoured to fit medium and larger sized hands. The gaurd is two pieces, with the foreward composed of coppper and the second a black phenolic.
The black chrome tanned leather sheath is made from locally sourced leather. It has an extra heavy duty stainless steel clasp and can accomodate up to a 2 1/8’’ belt.
